  • Claim: 1. An infant essentials article comprising a flat piece of flexible material with (a) a base that is movable between (i) a folded configuration and (ii) an unfolded configuration, (b) a pocket connected to the interior backside of said base, and (d) an attaching means to attach the article to an infant carrier.
  • Claim: 2. The infant essentials article as set forth in claim 1 wherein the flexible material is rectangular.
  • Claim: 3. The infant essentials article as set forth in claim 1 wherein the folded configuration defines an infant diaper bag for storage and sun protection to an infant's arms and legs while the infant is being carried in an infant carrier.
  • Claim: 4. The infant essentials article as set forth in claim 1 wherein the unfolded configuration defines a diaper-changing pad, infant play surface and breastfeeding privacy cover.
  • Claim: 5. The infant essentials article as set forth in claim 1 comprising a small pocket connected to the interior backside of said base that is dimensioned to accommodate infant wipes and a medium-sized pocket connected to the interior backside of said base that is dimensioned to accommodate parent's keys, parent's cell phone, parent's wallet, one infant diaper, toys, or items for other children.
  • Claim: 6. The infant essentials article as set forth in claim 1 comprising an ergonomic shape.
  • Claim: 7. The infant essentials article as set forth in claim 1 wherein the attaching means comprise two clips projecting outwardly from opposing backsides of said base to attach the article to an infant carrier.
  • Claim: 8. The infant essentials article as set forth in claim 1 wherein the material is held in the folded configuration by hook and pile fasteners located on both sides of the base.
  • Claim: 9. The infant essentials article as set forth in claim 8 wherein said hook and pile fasteners that are located on both sides of the base are released to create the unfolded configuration defining a diaper-changing pad, infant play surface and breastfeeding privacy cover.
  • Claim: 10. The infant essentials article as set forth in claim 5 further including hook and pile fasteners located on the top edge of the small and medium-sized pockets to close the pockets and prevent items from falling out.
  • Claim: 11. The infant essentials article as set forth in claim 1 wherein the base, small pocket and medium-sized pocket are constructed of a lightweight, water resistant, UV protected material.
  • Claim: 12. The infant essentials article as set forth in claim 7 wherein the attaching means are capable of attaching to various infant carriers or clothing.
  • Claim: 13. The infant essentials article as set forth in claim 9 wherein the article is constructed to lie flat when unfolded and empty.
  • Claim: 14. The infant essentials article as set forth in claim 1 wherein the article is constructed to fold small when not in use and empty.
  • Claim: 15. The infant essentials article as set forth in claim 1 wherein the article is flexible throughout its length, portable, and weight-balanced.
  • Claim: 16. A method of preparing a diaper-changing pad comprising the steps of converting the diaper bag set forth in claim 8 to a diaper-changing pad by releasing the hook and pile fasteners on the sides of the base, unfolding the flat rectangular material and placing the material on a surface for an infant to lie down, and placing upward the pocket to be used for items to change the infant.
  • Claim: 17. A method of preparing an infant play surface comprising the steps of converting the diaper bag set forth in claim 8 to an infant play surface by releasing the hook and pile fasteners on the sides of the base, unfolding the flat rectangular material and placing the material on a surface for an infant to lie down or sit on, and placing upward the pocket to be used for items with which the infant can play.
  • Claim: 18. A method of preparing a breastfeeding privacy cover comprising the steps of converting the diaper bag set forth in claim 8 to a breastfeeding privacy cover by releasing the hook and pile fasteners on the sides of the base, unfolding the flat rectangular material and clipping the material to the wearer's shirt to provide cover and privacy while breastfeeding the infant.
