New research conducted in Ariana, Tunisia, has investigated the chemical profiles and antibacterial properties of essential oils obtained from Ammi visnaga and Foeniculum vulgare. The essential oils showed activity against several bacterial strains, including Acinetobacter baumannii, Escherichia coli, Listeria monocytogenes, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus. The essential oils also exhibited inhibitory effects on biofilm formation and bacterial metabolism. The study suggests that these essential oils could be used as natural antibacterial agents in the food and pharmaceutical industries. [Extracted from the article]
