A recent study conducted by the Faculty of Agriculture at Ion Ionescu de la Brad, Iasi University of Life Sciences in Romania examined the levels of essential minerals and heavy metals in the muscle tissue and organs of wild boar harvested in north-eastern Romania. The research found that while meat from responsibly managed wildlife can have considerable nutritional benefits, there are concerns about the accumulation of heavy metals such as lead and cadmium in the meat, which can pose a danger to human health. The study highlights the need for strict monitoring and implementation of appropriate corrective measures to ensure food safety and environmental contamination. [Extracted from the article]
