To develop itself as a knowledge society and compete effectively in the globalization of world economy, top-quality education is vital to Europe. The EU countries set common goals and share practices to offer equal opportunities to all individuals. The concept of key competence is meant to define core/essential competences which will empower the European citizens with flexibility and motivation. The paper intends to review the concept of entrepreneurship as it is perceived in its broader meaning and to explain how the SWOT analysis technique applied in language activities can build personal development and promote basic qualities for entrepreneurship.
