The article discusses the career program "Careers Night," sponsored by the Southern Connecticut Chapter of the American Marketing Association, which was attended by more than 200 marketing students. The students learned about opportunities in sales, brand management, market research, and advertising, opportunities for women in marketing and the need for graduate education. Speakers were marketing professionals from corporations, ad agencies, market research firms, consultants, and colleges. According to Hank Malfa, senior vice president and director of account management, Cunningham & Walsh, a New York agency, although training programs for persons entering the ad profession are on the decline, plenty of opportunities still exist.
