The article responds on comments made by David Lewin, Jacob Mincer and L. L. Cummings on the paper, Models of Man in Industrial Relations Research. There are several issues raised. One of which concerns the definition of behavioral research in industrial relations. Behavioral researchers develop their own research, design their own research instruments and procedures, and collect primary data. The term is an established one, and behavioral research is considered in one of the behavioral fields. According to Cummings, the term applies to any research that analyzed aspect of human behavior.
