The article focuses on plant-microbial interactions. It discusses beneficial role of mycorrhiza and rhizobia along with other fungal endophytes which contribute to the adaptation of plants to environmental stress including drought, pathogens and herbivores. It further outlines impact of plant association with plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) including Rhizobium, Bacillus and Pseudomonas which help in improving the growth of vegetables and crops under the condition of abiotic stress.
