The essential oil of the aerial parts of Artemisia lehmanniana Bunge, growing wild in Iran, was extracted using hydrodistillation method and analyzed by GC and GC-MS. Thirty-seven components were identified in the essential oil of the plant, representing 98.6% of the total oil. The main constituents of the oil were camphor (45.6%), 1,8-cineole (24.8%), camphene (6.8%), and β-thujone (6.6%). Oxygenated monoterpenes (85.3%) were the major group of compounds in the essential oil of A. lehmanniana. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
