The article reports on the study which determines the chemical composition and antimicrobial activity of the essential oils from the two Sideritis species collected from Turkey. The study identified limonene as the major constituent in S. perfoliata, while beta-Pinene and alpha-pinene were identified as the major constituents in S. trojana. It is indicated that the bacteria including Eschirechia coli and methicilin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus were inhibited by the oil of S. trojana.
