The article presents an editorial looking at the inadequacy of the coroner system in Great Britain. The article discusses the results of the National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death's investigation of the coroner system. According to the article, the Royal College of Pathologists (RCPath) hoped that after it had acquired proof of poor standards, it would be able to convince the government to enact broad reform of the death-certification system. The article also discusses the meeting between RCPath and the Department for Constitutional Affairs and the coroners' reform bill.
