The chemical composition of the leaf essential oil of I T. fraxinifolium i was determined by gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrophotometry (GC-MS) as previously described [[12]]. The essential oil from the leaves of I T. fraxinifolium i demonstrated variable levels of antimicrobial activity against all examined microorganisms (Table 2), which may be due to synergistic interactions between major and minor components in essential oils [[20]]. However, the chemical identities of the terpene compounds present in the essential oils of I T. fraxinifolium i and I T. trichotomum i differed. As expected, terpene compounds constitute the bulk of the contents of I T. fraxinifolium i essential oil, in accordance with data reported on I T. trichotomum i essential oil [[16]].
